This year’s Global Game Jam takes place from January 31st – February 2nd!

  • The Pittsburgh GGJ site can support over 200 jammers.
  • Registration is handled by first-come, first-serve.
  • The registration fee is $40 and covers the entire event including food and GGJ t-shirt.

The Site

This year’s Pittsburgh Global Game Jam is being held at the Tepper Quad on Carnegie Mellon University. Located right off of Forbes Avenue in the heart of CMU’s campus, the Pittsburgh Global Game Jam will be using the expansive Simmons Auditorium for the jam.

Parking:
Parking is available in the East Campus parking garage (map) and is free after 5 PM on Friday and throughout the weekend. Paid street parking is also available.

 

Street parking is also available around CMU and is free after 6 PM on weekdays and Saturday and free all day Sunday. Additional parking can be found at the Dithridge Street and the Gates garage at $5/night or for the weekend (more information here).

Volunteering

Want to be part of the Global Game Jam, but don’t have the time for an entire weekend? Interested in seeing how the jam process looks up close? Or just want to be part of an awesome experience?

Schedule

Friday (January 31st)

  • 5:00 PM – Doors open for setup
  • 7:00 PM – Opening remarks and video
  • 7:30 PM – Dinner
  • Jamming the rest of the night with a midnight snack

 

Saturday (February 1st)

  • Jamming all day!
  • 12:30 PM – T-shirts and team photos

 

Sunday  (February 2nd)

  • Jamming until 2 PM
  • 1:00 PM – Setup for judging
  • 2:00 PM – Judging and showcase
  • 4:00 PM – Closing ceremony with awards
  • 5:00 PM – Breakdown and clean-up

What To Bring
  • Your ID
  • Extra power strips (for laptop or desktop computers)
  • Headphones (you will be sharing the same space)
  • Pen and paper
  • Your wallet (for parking, transportation, etc.)
  • Sleeping bag and pillow (for staying overnight)
  • USB thumb drive or external drive (for transferring files)
  • Deodorant and a change of clothes (to stay fresh)
  • A coat or jacket (in case the heating isn’t warm enough)
  • A camera to record jam memories
  • Your creativity, collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm!
