Date + Registration

This year’s Global Game Jam takes place from January 20th – 22nd.

  • The Pittsburgh GGJ site can support 130 jammers.
  • Registration is handled by first-come, first-serve.
  • The registration fee is $30 and covers the entire event including food and t-shirt.

Location

For this year’s Global Game Jam we will be jamming from Nova Place on Pittsburgh’s North Shore!

Located in the historic business center of the North Side, Nova Place is located conveniently near such landmarks like the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Warhol Museum. The Pittsburgh IGDA is proud to be the 1st major event taking place in this newly-renovated space.

Parking

Parking is available in the underground garage throughout the weekend. Jammers will be able to receive a prepaid parking ticket for the garage. We recommend people carpool for the event.

Jam Schedule

Friday (January 20th)

  • 5:30 PM – Doors open for setup
  • 7:00 PM – Opening remarks and video
  • 7:30 PM – Dinner
  • Jamming the rest of the night with a midnight snack

 

Saturday (January 21st)

  • Jamming all day!
  • 12:30 PM – T-shirts and team photos

 

Sunday  (January 22nd)

  • Jamming until 2 PM
  • 2:00 PM – Setup for judging
  • 3:00 PM – Judging and showcase
  • 5:00 PM – Closing ceremony with awards
  • 6:00 PM – Breakdown and clean-up

What To Bring
  • Your ID
  • Extra power strips (for laptop or desktop computers)
  • Headphones (you will be sharing the same space)
  • Pen and paper
  • Your wallet (for parking, transportation, etc.)
  • Sleeping bag and pillow (for staying overnight)
  • USB thumb drive or external drive (for transferring files)
  • Deodorant and a change of clothes (to stay fresh)
  • A coat or jacket (in case the heating isn’t warm enough)
  • A camera to record jam memories
  • Your creativity, collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm!
